CommercialiSE Fellows Training offers a package of support to enable academics, university staff, students, alumni, SME's and entrepreneurs based in the South East region to develop business ideas into a fully worked, realisable business plan.
The training lasts 6 days (2 days per month over 3 consecutive months), and focuses on developing your business potential. Typical content includes:
· “Street skills” business development workshops
· Formulating business plans
· Presentations/briefings from entrepreneurs/professionals.
The CommercialiSE programme also includes possible access to the CommercialiSE Mentoring Scheme. This is normally sponsored by one of the CommercialiSE partner universities and must be linked through one of them. You will be asked to complete an application form and give brief details of your business proposal for consideration by the programme.
During the training you will be invited to attend regular events (mainly weekends) at locations approximately 1 – 1 ½ hours drive from your chosen CommercialiSE university. The session will be highly interactive, giving you the chance to provide and receive feedback while you complete your business plan.
Your Business Plan will fully equip your move to the next stage in obtaining funds and other support to take your idea towards commercial reality. You will be expected to present your Business Plan to a CommercialiSE audience, approximately three months after completing your training and will be given the opportunity to compete in a CommercialiSE Business Plan competition, for which the first prize is a cheque for £500 and the two runner-up prizes are a cheque of £250.
